A pedestrian was killed and his brother was left injured after they were run over on High Street in Grangetown, Verulam, on Thursday afternoon, 6 January.
A member of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was on patrol in the area when he was flagged down by a passerby requesting assistance for two men who were lying on the road. RUSA spokesperson, Prem Balram, said: “Paramedics were called to the scene and on arrival one of the pedestrians was declared deceased. The second pedestrian suffered moderate injuries. He confirmed that the deceased was his brother but had no recollection of the incident.” Balram said the vehicle involved in the accident fled the scene. A broken rearview mirror was located near the deceased’s body.
