The Riverside community was left puzzled by the discovery of a deceased body on Riverside Road on Monday, 6 April.
The body was found lying on the side of the road with a gunshot wound and showed no signs of life. A member of the public contacted Marshall Security after discovering the body. Spokesperson Tyron Powell said that the shooting might have been the result of an altercation. He said: “The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear at this stage; however, it is believed that the shooting may have followed an altercation between individuals.”
Durban North SAPS and other emergency medical services were contacted and arrived at the scene, which had already been cordoned off by Marshall Security.
The matter remains under investigation by the Durban North SAPS.
