Port Shepstone SAPS are appealing to members of the community for assistance in locating a wanted murder suspect who was last seen on 8 September.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Colonel Thembeka Mbele, said an arrest warrant has been issued for the suspect, Siphiwe Richard Khawula, who continued to evade capture. Col Mbele said: “A warrant for his arrest was issued after an 85-year-old woman was assaulted with a hammer and brutally stabbed to death at her residence at Nyavini in Msinsini on 8 September.”
Col Mbele said the suspect was last seen on the same day walking towards the Pinetown area. “He was last seen wearing a yellow striped t-shirt, navy pants and sandals.”
