Once again, the Splashy Fen Farm in Underberg, northern KwaZulu-Natal, will be transformed into a magical musical wonderland from the 14 April to 18 April, after the event organisers, Impi Concept Events confirmed the 2022 dates.
According to organisers, all ticket holders from the cancelled 2020 festival will have first preference on purchasing tickets for next year’s event. Festival director, Stu Berry said the 2020 ‘ticket-holders’ will be sent an exclusive clickable link via email, which gives them access to buy the same number of tickets as they had in 2020 at the discounted Otter Club ticket price.
“It seems like a lifetime ago when we made the announcement to cancel our 2020 edition of the festival. Collectively, with our fans, we were devastated, but the choice was not ours to make. None of us had any idea just what we were up against, how long we would be away for, and what the music scene would look like when we eventually returned,” he said.
As ticket sales opened on 6 October 2021, hundreds were sold in just a matter of hours with tickets limited to 3 000 only. Berry said those who became a #splashyhero back in 2020 when they donated a portion of their 2020 ticket to the festival, will be eligible for the promised 20% discount, which will be applied to the Otter Club ticket price.
The Festival Creative Director, Andrew van Rensburg, said: “We are sure our fans will have many questions regarding the 2022 festival. Our website should be able to address all of these queries, including what we envisage will be the Covid-19 regulations at Splashy Fen 2022.
It has been great watching the European Festival season operating with full capacity crowds and we cannot wait to get back out there and deliver a world-class experience once again. It has been a tough two years, in which we have all been taught to stay away from each other and disengage, and we hope to get everyone back sharing, laughing, and smiling together again. Now more than ever, we need it.”
Last year would have been Splashy Fen Music Festival’s 31st installment but Covid-19 had other plans.
As the world was gripped by a global pandemic, all musical events had to be cancelled and were deemed a non-essential event. With this in mind the event organisers have guaranteed a 100% refund tickets, should the festival be cancelled due to Covid-19 lockdown regulations.
