Crimefighters and law enforcement officers are on high alert and amped to crack down on vehicle crime in the province.
PT Alarms Tactical Unit was quick to follow up on information about a stolen vehicle from the Port Shepstone area recently.
PT Alarms Spokesperson, Dhevan Govindasamy said: “A white VW Polo was stolen in Port Shepstone and PT Tactical Unit members received information that the vehicle was headed on the N2 north bound towards Umkomaas. The suspects spotted the approaching PT Tactical Unit from a distance and abandoned vehicle. They fled into the bushes and made a quick getaway. Tracker Connect, Port Shepstone K9 Unit and Umkomaas Trio Crimes Unit assisted in the recovery.”
Meanwhile, in a separate recovery, Alpha Tactical Support members together with Metro Police Umlazi and Cartrack acted on information about a white Ford Ranger which was stolen from a mall in Amanzimtoti.
According to Alpha 911, the vehicle was activated by Cartrack, and was recovered by members in Umlazi BB section.
