Emergency services were called out to an explosion in Kloof on Friday morning.
According to ER 24’s Russel Meiring, three people were injured in the explosion, however, the medics were flagged down before getting to the scene of the incident.
Garrith Jamieson of ALS Paramedics said that one person was critically injured. “KZN VIP Medical Paramedics arrived on scene to find that workers had been doing maintenance on an electrical sub station when it exploded. One person had sustained critical injuries and was rushed to hospital prior to the arrival of the paramedics. Two other workers sustained minor to moderate injuries and were stabilised on the scene before being transported to a nearby Durban Hospital.”
Jamieson said events leading to the explosion were unknown, however, investigations are pending.
