When you walk into Grace Outreach International in Phoenix on Friday, 25 July, you won’t just be attending a concert – you’ll be answering a crucial call for help, hope, and healing. A special fundraising concert, “Revolution 2.0,” will feature a lineup of talented guest artists alongside VERD, all performing in aid of Sahara Shelter and the Phoenix Children’s Home. These two critical sanctuaries, run in partnership with Phoenix Child Welfare (PCW), provide life-saving support to women and children affected by abuse, violence, neglect, and abandonment.

“Revolution 2.0” is a community-driven effort to raise vital funds, ensuring these essential support systems can continue operating for some of society’s most vulnerable members. Behind every rand raised lies a real human story: a woman fleeing gender-based violence with her child in the middle of the night, children who have experienced profound abuse, neglect, or abandonment, and young people striving to rebuild their lives and heal from trauma. These aren’t faceless causes; they represent urgent human realities.

The PCW emphasises that by donating toward an entry, you are investing in comprehensive, life-changing support. This includes safe accommodation for women and children escaping dangerous situations, 24/7 protection and support during the most vulnerable times, psychosocial counselling and trauma support, daily meals and nutritional care, medical assistance with hospital and clinic visits, legal support including court appearances and maintenance orders, identity document and birth certificate assistance, job placement and career guidance, professional CV compilation and interview preparation, skills development programmes that transform victims into independent survivors, school transportation ensuring education continues, school uniforms, stationery, and educational materials, and clothing and essential items for dignity and comfort.

“Every service provided is a step towards breaking cycles of violence and creating lasting change,” states the PCW. “However, these services rely entirely on donations from events like this to stay open. Without consistent support, shelters like Sahara and homes like Phoenix Children’s risk turning away those who need them most. Your night out could be the turning point in someone’s life as you will be directly helping to keep doors open for women and children in crisis, fund meals, beds and therapy sessions, enable children to stay in school and support long-term recovery and empowerment programmes.”

The organisation further highlights: “Revolution 2.0 isn’t just a concert – it’s a movement. A belief that music has power, and that when a community stands together, real change happens. Every artist will be performing in solidarity with this cause and every ticket sold is a lifeline to someone in desperate need.”
