An unidentified man was fatally injured after he was run over by a truck on the south-bound lane of the R102 in Canelands, on Monday morning.
Passing motorists contacted Reaction Unit South Africa requesting assistance for the pedestrian. RUSA Spokesperson, Prem Balram, said: “Members of RUSA were dispatched to the scene and on arrival located the body of the fatally injured man in the centre median. “According to the driver of the Toyota Hino truck, he was travelling towards Canelands when the deceased suddenly ran onto the road.” He said the driver of the truck did not sustain any injuries.
