A generous donation of 565 packs of sanitary pads from Kantar is helping restore dignity and confidence to young girls and women in vulnerable communities across KwaZulu-Natal.
The pads, collected by dedicated Kantar staff, were entrusted to the Gift of the Givers Foundation for distribution to those in greatest need. Raeesa Manjra, Senior Delivery Manager at Kantar, expressed the company’s support for the humanitarian effort. She said: “We admire the work that Gift of the Givers does and are grateful they can ensure these reach women and girls in need.”
The first recipients of the donation were pupils at Mayika Primary School and Sandfields Primary School in Tongaat, as well as Umzinyathi Primary School in Inanda. These schools serve communities where many pupils come from disadvantaged backgrounds and frequently struggle to access basic hygiene products.
The distribution extended beyond schools to several key community organisations, including:
• Ingwavuma Ladies Support Centre
• Cewbeni Village Support
• Zululand Bucket Filtration Intervention
• Childline
By providing these essential supplies, the initiative helps ensure that young girls can remain healthy, confident and, most importantly, stay in school without the barrier of period poverty.
