Ladysmith Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a crash tragically claimed the life of one person on Saturday afternoon, 9 October. It is reported that the bakkie was travelling along the N11 when he was struck by another vehicle.
“The vehicle had left the scene, without reporting the crash,” said officials on the scene. A passenger was treated for slight injuries and told family members arriving on the scene that everything had happened so fast.
A family member told The Ladysmith Herald that he can’t believe what had happened. “We were all visiting, just a few minutes ago, life can be taken away from you in a matter of minutes,” said the clearly shocked family member. Police will conduct further investigation into the incident.
