A weekend ended in horror when a driver lost control of his vehicle and died in the early hours of Sunday on the M4 near the Simbithi Eco-Estate in Ballito.
According to Netcare911 paramedics, the driver of a light motor vehicle lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a rollover, crashing through the safety barrier, leaving the road and slamming into a tree down an embankment. Shawn Herbst, spokesperson of Netcare911, said the vehicle was only kept in place by a few small branches and it was stabilised using a cable allowing crews to assess the scene. “The patient, an adult male had been ejected from the car during the rollover and was found by the eThekwini Fire and Rescue Services in the bushes further away. Sadly the driver, also the only occupant on board, had sustained fatal injuries,” he said.
