The matric class of 2022 was severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic which hit when they were in Grade 10, and on Friday, 21 October, they celebrated their last day of school before the big final exams.
“We have come this far, we are almost at the end, so take on this last challenge with courage,” said Ladysmith High School (LHS) head boy, Dylan Tschirpig.
LHS head girl, Zamajobe Sithole, said: “It has not been easy, but I would like to wish this year’s class of 2022 all the best as they sit for their finals.”
This year, 923 460 matric candidates are registered for the NSC certificate and uThukela District will see 12 300 learns taking the final exams which are set to be written between 25 October and 6 December.
LHS will have 204 matrics writing their finals and recently held their countdown, and bid farewell to the Grade 12 classes as they go on study leave to prepare for the big finals. “To the matrics of this year, I wish you nothing but the best as you sit for your final exams,” said Mr Clark, principal of LHS.
