In a tragic turn of events, it has been confirmed that the third learner, who was urgently transported to the hospital in critical condition following the Umhlatuzana accident this morning, has tragically lost their battle against their injuries.
This brings a total of four fatalities stemming from the incident. The victims include a six-year-old, a nine-year-old, an 11-year-old, as well as the vehicle’s driver, who was reportedly in his 30s.
While the community grapples with this profound loss, it is reported that the remaining survivor, a 14-year-old learner, is reportedly in a stable condition and is currently under medical care at a local medical facility.
It is alleged that the four minors were walking to school when a truck allegedly rammed into them. The six-year-old and a nine-year-old succumbed to their injuries on scene.
