Unclaimed Bodies: Hospital appeals for help in locating families

The Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital is making a heartfelt appeal to the community for assistance in locating the families of five deceased patients whose bodies remain unclaimed. Despite several attempts by the South African Police Service (SAPS), efforts to contact relatives have so far been unsuccessful.

The hospital has released the names and available details of the deceased in the hope that someone may come forward with information. The unclaimed bodies are those of:
Savathree Govender, a 51-year-old Indian female, born on 1 July 1973, who passed away on 17 February 2025. No known address has been provided.

Thandaza Dlamini, a 34-year-old African male, born on 16 June 1990, who passed away on 18 January 2025. His last known address was in Rattan, Amaoti.

Phumla Dlamini, a 47-year-old African female, born on 8 August 1977, who passed away on 4 December 2024. She was admitted to the hospital on 18 November 2024. Her last known location was Roy Tuck Shop, 17 Amaoti area.
Nduduzo Nxumalo, a 39-year-old African male, born on 16 March 1986, who passed away on 10 February 2025. He resided at 1020 KwaBester Block 2.

Thembinkosi Khumalo, a 57-year-old African male, born on 12 January 1968, who passed away on 5 March 2025. His last known location was Inanda.

The hospital urges anyone with information or who may be related to the deceased individuals to contact Ms Khuzwayo on 031 502 1719, ext. 2054 as soon as possible.
