Starwood Superspar recently celebrated a major milestone as the popular Phoenix-based supermarket marked its 18th anniversary, reflecting on nearly two decades of dedicated service, growth, and strong community ties.
The anniversary celebration, held on Friday, 22 May 2026, brought together senior management, staff members, and loyal customers to commemorate the journey of a retail store that has become a familiar part of daily life for many families across Phoenix.
Store Manager Pradeep Rambharose described the occasion as both proud and emotional, highlighting the store’s longstanding relationship with the local community.
“What a moment this is. Today we celebrate 18 years. Starwood Superspar opened its doors 18 years ago with a dream and a vision rooted right here in the heart of this vibrant community, and today, look at what we have become,” he said.
Rambharose noted that the supermarket has evolved into more than just a retail outlet, becoming a place where families gather and community relationships are strengthened.
“This is not just a store. It is where families shop together, where tradition meets convenience, and where someone always says, ‘I came for one thing and left with ten,’” he added.
Reflecting on the store’s journey, Rambharose acknowledged the operational and economic challenges faced over the years.
“The journey has not always been smooth. There were long days, late nights, stock that did not arrive on time, and systems that went down at the worst possible moments. Yet through it all, we showed up, adapted, and pushed forward because this is not just a business, but a commitment to providing the best service to our community,” he said.
During the celebrations, Rambharose also paid tribute to the store’s directors, Mr and Mrs Jagadasan, thanking them for their vision and leadership since the supermarket first opened in 2008.
“You believed in this store before it became what it is today. You took bold steps when others hesitated. Thank you for your vision, courage, and belief. Most importantly, you trusted the people here to bring that vision to life. You have built more than a store — you have built a legacy that we are all proud to be part of,” he said.
He further praised the dedication of the staff, crediting them for the store’s continued success.
“To our incredible team, you are the reason we are standing here today. Through every challenge, you stayed committed and resilient, and that is what makes this place special. Thank you for your hard work, passion, and spirit,” Rambharose added.
He concluded by thanking customers for their loyalty and ongoing support over the past 18 years.
“To our valued customers, thank you for your loyalty, support, and for keeping us on our toes. Eighteen years ago we opened these doors with hope. Today, we stand here with pride, gratitude, and excitement for what lies ahead. If the past 18 years are anything to go by, I would say the best is definitely yet to come,” he said.
