Members of the Malvern SAPS Crime Prevention Unit apprehended two men, aged 27 and 31, after they were found in possession of heroin, last week.

Communications officer of the Malvern SAPS, Sergeant Kheswa, said four police officers were patrolling in their vehicle and reacted on information regarding a known drug dealer’s house near the M7 shacks in Queensburgh.

“Observations were immediately held near the entrance of the M7 shacks. It was noticed by the members that various number of people were coming in and out of the house. Members then proceeded to the shacks. They entered inside the premises and introduced themselves as police officials. Upon searching the house, two suspects aged between 27 and 31 were found in possession of heroin. The suspects were placed under arrest immediately and transported to Malvern SAPS and charged accordingly,” she said.

Both accused will appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court, in due course. “We acknowledge the good work done by members of the Malvern Crime Prevention Unit. Observations are part of our duties and at Malvern SAPS, we are committed to having a safe and peaceful festive season,” added Kheswa.
