A fatal crash on the M7 under the N2 bridge on Saturday afternoon claimed one leaving another person injured in the three-vehicle collision.
Netcare 911 responded to the scene where a truck, bakkie and car collided. “Medics assessed the scene and found that one person had sustained fatal injuries and another moderate injuries. Once stabilised the injured patient was transported by ambulance to hospital for further care,” said Netcare 911 media liaison officer, Shawn Herbst. Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a multi-vehicle collision on the N2 Solomon Mahlangu Road near Ridgeview in Durban left a few people injured on-scene, on Saturday night. Netcare 911’s Herbst said: “Reports indicate that a Good Samaritan assisting a broken-down motorist was struck by a car causing the initial incident. A secondary collision involving a truck, two cars, a SUV and mini-bus taxi then occurred leaving multiple people injured.” Netcare 911, Durban Metropolitan Police, eThekwini Fire and Rescue Services, Life Response 24, SAPS and KZN VIP EMS were present and assisted on-scene. “The occupants of all the vehicles had sustained minor to serious injuries and were treated on-scene prior to transportation to hospital,” said Herbst.
