Most parts of South Africa and KwaZulu-Natal were gripped in cold wet conditions over the weekend with snow falling in parts of the country. Wet weather was forecasted for Ladysmith as a cold front swept through.
Snow fell along the Drakensberg mountain range and was reported to be seen falling along Nottingham Road, Mooi River, Hillcrest and Howick.
Viaan Lalbeharie, Ladysmith resident, was lucky to catch the snow at Nottingham, including building his first snow man. Lalbeharie said that he and the family had made their way up, along Nottingham for lunch, on Saturday, when snow started falling. “It was one family outing, that will not be forgotten and how lucky were we to watch the snow fall,” said Lalbeharie.
