A male suspect wearing full black began throwing rocks at a security official in Woodview on Sunday before fleeing the scene. The suspect was being accused of stealing water meters from residents before fleeing towards Woodview Park.
Gareth Naidoo, KZN VIP spokesperson said that community members who were in pursuit of the fleeing suspect, flagged down a KZN VIP security official who was on patrol, in the Woodview area.
“The suspect was seen stealing water meters from residents before fleeing. A KZN VIP Patrol car then noticed the suspect fitting the same description who then began throwing rocks at the response officer before fleeing towards Woodview Park. The suspect dropped the water meters before fleeing,” said Naidoo.
Naidoo said that after an extensive search, the suspect could not be located and the response officer escaped with minor injuries.
