South Coast Weekly Gazette (SCWG): What keeps you motivated as a musician?

Siphesihle Mazubane (SM): I just never stop trying to be better than yesterday. I take each day as it comes and I ensure that my various talents are displayed every time the opportunity arises.

SCWG: What are some of your career highlights?

SM: Watching my music played on Channel O was a stepping stone that has opened more doors of opportunities. The Collaboration with Stilo Magolide on his latest mixtape also stands out as one of my biggest career highlight so far.

SCWG: If you had the world’s attention for 30 seconds, what would you say?

SM: I’d say let’s spread love and support more local businesses and talents.

SCWG: What are the top three things in your bucket list?

SM: I dream of visiting Thailand to experience the food and see the wildlife. Secondly, I want to be a director for my own movie. Lastly, I want to achieve at least five Grammy Awards through my music career.

SCWG: What is your dream car?

SM: My dream car is a Lamborghini Aventador

SCWG: If you could meet one person/celebrity, dead or alive. Who would it be and why?

SM: It would have to be Chris Brown, he changed my life. I started dreaming big about music and, from the time I was a child, danced with so much confidence and passion after watching his music videos.

SCWG: If you got a Million Rands right now, what would you buy?

SM: I would invest R500 000 into my music career and split the remaining amount between my parents.

SCWG: Any advice for upcoming musicians?

SM: No matter what comes your way never give up on your dreams. Have faith and believe in yourself. The great things will happen and meditate to keep yourself humble.

SCWG: If you were a president for a day, what would you do or change?

SM: I would build more schools for creativity and arts. I feel like that’s where a lot of individuals and talented beings can express themselves well and freely without being judged.

SCWG: What do you enjoy doing in your leisure time?

SM: I enjoy reading books, playing the guitar and piano in my free time.
