South Coast Weekly Gazette(SCWG): Tell us a bit about yourself?

Nirvasha Ramnath(NR): I’m a 33 year-old sport fanatic, business owner and a community activist from Amanzimtoti. I believe in empowering young people with access to various sporting codes to make them competitive athletes.

SCWG: What is one thing you like residents to know about community work?

NR: Being supportive and just willing to do good without expecting or receiving anything in return goes a long way in making a difference in the lives of our community members.

SCWG: If you could spend a day anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

NR: It would have to be, Maldives. The beauty and serenity of that place is something I would like to experience.

SCWG: What is your dream car/house?

NR: My dream car is a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen

SCWG: What do you do in your leisure time?

NR: I ensure that I spend quality time with my family. I also use the free time to get much needed rest.

SCWG: 70s,80s,90s, which decade do you love the most and why?

NR: The 90’s decade stands out because of the great old school music that always keeps me calm and it has a lot of meaning in my life.

SCWG: Do you cook, if so what’s your favourite meal?

NR: Cooking isn’t my strong point as I’m a business individual and time does not permit me to be in the kitchen. My favourite meal is chicken curry and rice.

SCWG: What are some of your greatest achievements?

NR: I have represented KZN for more than seven years as a coach for several sports. I have qualifications in sports science, marketing and personal training.

SCWG: What are you currently watching or reading?

NR: I enjoy catching-up on sports updates on the different SuperSport channels during the weekend.

SCWG: If you were a president for a day, what would you do or change?

NR: Personally, I would provide social relief hampers to the underprivileged families around South Africa and also assist with establishing programmes to alleviate unemployment for our youth.

SCWG: What legacy do you hope to leave behind?

NR: I would like to be remembered as a person who provided a helping hand in the community and also as someone who contributed to the development of young people and the sporting fraternity as a whole.
