A serious motor vehicle collision involving a car and a taxi occurred yesterday, 17 February, on Hans Dettman Highway, leaving multiple people injured.
Amawele Emergency Services were first on the scene and encountered extensive damage with several injured patients. Additional ambulances were immediately dispatched as emergency personnel began triaging those involved.
One Indian male was trapped inside a vehicle and required specialised rescue efforts. With assistance from ALS Paramedics, trauma teams, and the Fire Department, the patient was safely extricated.
A total of nine patients were treated and stabilised at the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.
Emergency response teams were present together with the Chatsworth Fire Department.
