A wife and baby watched in shock and horror as two armed robbers stabbed and robbed a Mozambican national on Todd Street near Oaklands on Sunday morning.
At approximately 08:05, members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene by a passerby requesting assistance for the injured man.
RUSA head, Prem Balram said, “Upon arrival, medics treated him for multiple stab wounds to his arm and thigh. The 28-year-old man informed Reaction Officers that he ran a tuck-shop at an informal settlement in Redcliffe.
“He was on his way with his wife and child to Verulam to purchase stock for the business when he was approached by two suspects who drew knives and demanded their valuables. The man handed over his Hisense cellphone
and R200 in cash.
“The suspects then stabbed him twice of his right forearm and twice on his
right thigh before they fled the scene on foot. Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search for the suspect, however, they remain at large,” Balram said.
