The Phoenix Tabloid published a front page article (21 August 2021) seeking assistance in locating Shaik after her distraught family was struck with worry as Shaik, a schizophrenia sufferer, wandered off and was without medication for weeks.
Speaking to the Phoenix Tabloid soon after receiving the horrific news, Shaik’s sister, Latiffa Pillay, broke down and confirmed that her sister was indeed found deceased and that the family was awaiting more information from police.
Shaik went missing from the Northcroft home she shared with her son on 11 August and her anxious family has been searching for her day and night since that fateful day.
