Sydenham police are investigating an attempted murder case after unknown gunmen fired shots at a man who was in his stationary vehicle in Spencer Road, Reservoir Hills on Tuesday morning.
Police spokesperson, Captain Nqobile Gwala said the man was parked at the entrance of a mosque when he was shot at by unknown suspects who fled the scene after the shooting. Emer-G-Med spokesperson, Kyle van Reenen said paramedics arrived on-scene to find a 57-year-old man seated in his motor vehicle having sustained multiple gunshot wounds from a high caliber weapon. “Advanced Life support intervention was needed to stabilise him before he was placed onto a specialised stretcher used for the treatment and prevention of potential spinal cord injuries, and taken to a nearby hospital for the further immediate definitive care that he required,” he said. “A case of attempted murder is being investigated by Sydenham police,” added Captain Gwala.
