As operations to find looted goods and arrest perpetrators continue, Newcastle Crime Intelligence are working around the clock to restore order in the community.
“Information was received regarding looted items. The operational teams were Newcastle Crime Prevention, Newcastle K9 Unit, Amajuba Cluster Task Team and the Newcastle Crime Fighter Task team,” said Captain Imraan Ghafor. He explained that many goods were recovered, some being Defy goods and items from hardware stores with one suspect arrested. “We also received information regarding many items which were housed in certain areas. The teams are doing a wonderful job in the recovery of the goods and a further seven suspects were arrested,” he said.
