From Newcastle to Botswana, local group Latin Extreme Music are thrilled to be recognised internationally.

The trio, which consists of Sfiso Hadebe,27, Nkosinathi Hadebe, 25 and Sphelele Mbatha, 23, said that they are proud of the success that they are very quickly seeing in the music industry.

“We are humbled by the love we have received from our fans around the world. We never thought that our music would be so well received by people who do not even understand the African language,” said Sfiso Hadebe.

The group began singing in high school and entertaining many in their township of Osizweni. From there, the group then moved to Johannesburg with the hopes of hitting the international scene. It was there that Latin Extreme Music was born. Their sound is uniquely Afro Tech. “We wanted to bring an element that was different but that could also relate to many. We wanted a different flavour of music and people love our sound. We believe that every artist has something unique to offer and it’s just a matter of what our fans like to hear,” said Sfisio.

Their first album was released in 2016 and was an instant hit. The group also received an award for Local Artist of the Year at the Germiston Khuthalo Stadium and are now preparing for their first trip out of the country to Botswana.

“This will be our first trip out of the country and we are so humbled that we have been invited to perform there,” said Sfiso.

Their next album is due to be released in December.
