The vibrant flag hoisting ceremony on Thursday, 15 August, marking India’s 78th Independence Day featured a special invitation extended to Phoenix Child Welfare by Dr Thelma John David, Consul General of India.

This prestigious event allowed Phoenix Child Welfare to celebrate not only India’s independence but also to receive a library sponsored by the Consul General’s office. The ceremony commenced with the ceremonial hoisting of the Indian flag, followed by the stirring rendition of the Indian national anthem.
