Anticipation is building ahead of the return of the wonderfully scary Halloween event to be held at the Crocworld Conservation Centre (CCC) on Saturday, 30 October, from 3pm to 9pm.
Due to lockdown restrictions in 2020, the conservancy had to cancel the much-anticipated event on their calendar. This year, however, visitors can look forward to some spooky surprises waiting around every corner with a heart-thumping journey through the Haunted Forest complete with shrieking hags and freaky spectres.
This year’s event is said to be one not to be missed because the CCC will be going all out to give each visitor, irrespective of age, the best ghostly experience possible. CCC’s manager, James Wittstock, said upon entering, visitors will be given a clue to decipher before finding the first of five sweet stations hidden throughout the centre.
“We will have a range of activities and entertainment suited for all ages, with extra lighting so our visitors can enjoy the event into the night. We promise our visitors that this will be an event that has been worth the wait.”
While the little witches and wizards are busy trick or treating, the older ghouls can relax in the beer garden while listening to the sounds of live music. Whittstock encourages all visitors, young and old, to join in the festivities and come dressed in their scariest and most outrageous costumes as there will be an online Best Dressed Competition on the CCC’s Facebook page.
In line with Covid-19 protocols, only 500 people will be permitted to enter the centre at any one time. “The team will welcome in new guests as other guests exit the centre in order to maintain social distancing and crowd control. The event will be run on a first-come-first-served basis and no re-entering will be permitted, and all food and alcohol must be purchased on site.”
