After two years of playing it safe, The Association For The Aged (TAFTA) is finally ready to get back into the swing of things, while they celebrate their 65th year of establishment with a grand Golf Day in support of their ‘Meals on Wheels’ programme.

The Meals on Wheels service is provided to the elderly who are housebound or who can no longer cook or afford to cook for themselves.

TAFTA CEO Femada Shamam explained the impact created by the service: “TAFTA’s Meals on Wheels programme offers nutritious, freshly prepared and ready-to-eat meals which are conveniently delivered to older people who want to continue living in their own homes as independent members of the community, but need assistance with their meals.”

She added that each meal is tailored to the recommended dietary allowances for elders aged 60 and over; proper nutrition is instrumental in promoting good physical and mental health, prevention of chronic diseases and their complications, as well as improving the management of many acute and chronic conditions.

In support of this service, TAFTA will host its Corporate Golf Day at the Mount Edgecombe Country Club on Friday, 26 May in the usual 4-ball alliance, 2 scores to count format.

Team participation is R4500 per team of 4 providing subsidisation of 75 nutritious and affordable meals delivered to the elderly while you network and enjoy a day of golf with friends (the fee includes the team’s green fees, halfway meals and drinks, dinner and prize giving).

If you are not a golfer but would still like to support this worthy cause, consider sponsoring a tee at a cost of R1000 and still enjoy a great day of networking and marketing your business or products.
