Frontliners saluted for work done during the pandemic

UThukela officials recognise Covid-19 frontline workers

The uThukela District Municipality honoured Covid-19 front-liner employees from the Health Department for their resilience and tenacity during the ceremony held at the uThukela boardroom. UThukela officials and Mayor, Councillor Siphiwe Mazibuko, saluted these officials who have been at the forefront in the fight against the pandemic over the past 20 months and are still doing their best.

“Putting the lives of the community of uThukela before your own shows dedication and strength. You must continue working hard, your contributions mean a lot to us and the community of uThukela. We also appreciate the support from councillors. Let’s continue to do our part and save lives”, said Mayor Mazibuko.  Mayor Mazibuko was heartened by the dedication and sacrifices that the health officials are making for the people around the district.

He also encouraged people who have not been vaccinated to get vaccinated soon. “It will help us and at the same time keep our communities safe. Let us continue to stand united as one and keep our flag flying high. I’m confident that if we keep working together we can build a Covid-19 resilient nation”, the Mayor concluded. Health officials were awarded certificates as a gesture of appreciation for their dedication and hard work.
