A new wave of innovation is sweeping through Phoenix with the launch of its very first coding and robotics club. Led by local educator, Mohamed Taariq Yusuf, the club is designed to empower children with future-ready skills, marking a significant development for learners of all ages eager to explore the world of technology.
“At the Phoenix Coding and Robotics Club, learners dive into a rich blend of digital disciplines,” explained Yusuf. This includes block-based coding using platforms like Scratch and MakeCode, line-based programming in Python and C++, robotics building and coding including robotic cars and sensor kits, web design and app development, and hands-on exploration with circuit kits, tablets, laptops, and building block robotics.
Yusuf highlighted the club’s crucial role in the community: “Many schools in the area are unable to offer coding and robotics due to limited resources and expertise. This club fills that gap by providing state-of-the-art equipment and expert instruction, ensuring that every child — whether a curious beginner or a budding engineer — has the opportunity to thrive.”
Beyond just teaching technology, Yusuf emphasised that the club prepares learners for the future and builds pathways to exciting careers. “Learners can gain foundational skills for fields such as computer programming, software development, computer science, engineering, artificial intelligence, game design, data science, mechatronics, cybersecurity, and mobile app development. Whether your child dreams of building robots, designing apps, or simply wants to have educational fun, this club offers a safe, engaging space to explore and grow.”
