Muslims around the world scanned the skies this week for the birth of the new moon, heralding the end of the Holy Month of Ramadaan.

The birth of the new moon was on Tuesday, 11 May at 9pm, and members of the community gathered to sight the moonon Wednesday evening this week. As the moon was approximately 20 hours old at the time, the moon could not be seen by the naked eye and it was announced that Eid would be on Friday. Pictured are the learners from Al Falaah College getting ready for their Eid celebrations. Tabloid Newspapers management and staff would like to wish the Muslim community Eid Mubarak. May the Almighty open doors of happiness and prosperity for you and your family.
