Well wishes are pouring in for Kloof and Highway SPCA staff member Pasuma Muchegwa known as Job, 48, who was involved in an accident on 3 March in Bothas Hill.

Job was knocked off his bike by a motorist in the morning hours of Wednesday just before 6.30am as he was making his way to work. Babara Patrick, manager at Kloof and Highway SPCA confirmed that Job is currently at the R.K. Khan Hospital awaiting surgery after he suffered a compound fracture on his thigh. “We really wish him a speedy recovery, work is not the same with him away. He is a very fit and active member of the SPCA and goes out of his way to help where ever he can. He is always smiling and our biggest wish is to transfer him to another hospital to fast-track the surgery, however due to Covid-19 we were told that the transfer can’t happen,” said Patrick.
She said that the SPCA is very grateful to the community who was able to assist Job at the scene ensuring that he is stable before emergency services could arrive. Patrick said the Kloof and Highway SPCA is the only family that Job has in South Africa and he works very hard to make sure that every cent he makes goes to his family. “A big thank-you to everyone who stopped, phoned me, checked on Job and stayed with him. Special thanks must be said to Juan De Wet, Dutch, Colleen Brown, Rob L’Etang, the paramedics and ambulance staff who made sure that Job got the medical attention he needed at the scene and was then transferred to hospital. Job has received so many ‘get well’ messages and is so grateful. Thank you to everyone. His precious bicycle was completely smashed, and thanks to one of our supporters, Brenda Harding, who did an appeal on her personal Facebook page, Job will be receiving a replacement from Greg Albert from Cyclesphere Cycling, when he is ready to ride again, thank you Greg,” said Patrick.
She said she appeals to the community that wishes to assist in donating money towards a new bicycle for Job to do so by contacting the Kloof and Highway SPCA on 031 7641212 or emailing manager@kloofandhighwayspca.co.za.
