The Al-Imdaad Foundation partnered with the Bayede Heritage Trust to render assistance to the Queen Kamsweli Primary School in Nongoma, in KwaZulu-Natal’s Zululand District. Together with Her Majesty, Queen Nomphumelelo MaMchiza, school principal at Kamsweli Primary and wife of former King Goodwill Zwelithini, the foundation distributed plastic tables, and chairs, as well as school bags and stationery kits to learners on Monday 12 April.
PPE was also provided to the school. The items were sponsored by Elite Star Trading and White Star Maize Meal who have been contributing towards the foundation’s Back-2-School activities. The Queen expressed gratitude to the Bayede Heritage Trust which had worked with the foundation to make the event possible and she thanked the sponsors. The Queen said there was a need for help during the Covid-19 period. “We are doing this intervention to address a social distance problem that we have in our schools because we don’t have furniture. The foundation donated furniture for the foundation phase.” Al-Imdaad Foundation’s HOD for intergovernmental Relations, Mr Abed Karrim, also appealed to donors to continue supporting local projects for rural communities in South Africa. “There are many other matters that need to be addressed in these areas, with your help and your donations”, said Karrim.
