
The Islamic Medical Association’s ENT / Audiology team removed a piece of sponge from the nostril of a child and the nib of a pen from the ear of another when they conducted a health screening programme at the More’ster Children’s Home in Ladysmith where 150 children ranging in ages from six months to 18 years were assessed by a multidisciplinary team.
Operation Sukhuma Sakhe, the Al Imdaad Foundation and Islamic Educational Centre (IEC) partnered to put together the programme, in the month of Ramadaan. Learners from the Islamic Educational Centre (IEC) distributed a chicken food pack, Al Imdaad provided beanies, sweet hampers were sponsored by TFS Wholesalers and gloves were sponsored by Feroz Moosa of Willowton. In addition clothes collected by the IEC learners were handed over to the home. More’ster Home Director Lizette van Niekerk and her staff were thanked for facilitating the programme.
