A 10-year-old boy fled for his life when he saw his dad being accosted and later stabbed by two armed robbers in Lotus Park.
The traumatic ordeal unfolded on Lotus Drive where a father and son were walking to their home in KwaMakhuta when the armed robbers struck. Responding to the incident, PT Alarms spokesperson, Dhevan Govindasamy, said upon arrival, the PT Tactical officers found a man stabbed and bleeding profusely. “The father said he and his son were walking home to KwaMakhutha when the knife-wielding suspects approached them and demanded his belongings. The father was afraid for his son’s safety and tried to fend off the robbers. The boy, however, quickly fled into the bushes for safety.”
The suspects stabbed the father on his leg and grabbed his cellphone before fleeing. “PT Tactical officers attempted to stabilise the stabbed victim until PT Ambulance Service arrived. PT medics treated the patient on-scene and transported him to hospital,” added Govindasamy. A search of the nearby bushes was conducted by PT Tactical officers for the boy to no avail. It was later learnt that the boy made his way home and was safe.
