UMhlanga resident and Mrs Globe SA finalist RiAnne Rautenbach

UMhlanga resident, RiAnne Rautenbach will be strutting down the prestigious stage of the Mrs Globe South Africa pageant, as one of two representatives hailing from eThekwini, at the Maslow Hotel in Pretoria from 10 to 12 November.

Rautenbach and fellow community upliftment champion, Kim Griffith Jones, have been selected as finalists for the much anticipated pageant which advocates for the empowerment of women from all walks of life. Speaking to the Durban North News, Rautenbach, who is a Fame World Fitness Model title holder, said the moment she received news of her achievement as a finalist she was “absolutely overjoyed”.

“This pageant is unique, its so prestigious and the winner is presented at the Mrs Globe International against 84 other countries which is super exciting,” said Rautenbach.

One of the appeals of the Mrs Globe competition for the mother-of-three is the representation of strong yet elegant women who are passionate about fixing the crowns of their fellow sisters. The Mrs Globe brand has strong ties with the non-profit organisation, BLOVED Foundation, that supports and fundraises for abused women.

The organisation also works towards the nurturing of children who have been traumatised by human trafficking. They also have outreach educational programmes and feeding schemes which are part of the NPO’s upliftment efforts.

This aligns with Rautenbach’s passion for uplitfting women and children who are in need of support. She said: “The Mrs Globe pageant allows me an even broader platform to reach women who have been abused in all forms, that have lost confidence in themselves, to enlighten them in knowing that they can reach their full potential. I am also passionate in reaching out and facilitating our baby homes in need.”

Rautenbach, who lists her parents as her biggest inspiration, takes pride in her womanhood, stating that she loves being a strong minded woman. “I have attained so much through my journey so far and perseverance has pushed me to attain higher places then I’ve ever dreamed of, and it’s just the beginning. I love being feminine, independent and free to be me,” she said.

Her advice to women “to remember that each day is a new opportunity to make a big difference”. “Strong women support women. Be kind, be authentic, help whoever you can. Know you are enough!” Rautenbach added.
