The wife and her lover who were accused of the murder of 38-year-old Bradley Singh were denied bail at the Chatsworth Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 7 March. The accused wife, 26-year-old Lauretta Ramrathan, and her lover, 38-year-old Zale Wendel Leo Brock, were remanded into custody at Westville Correctional Services and will re-appear in court on Friday, 14 April.

Ramrathan pleaded not guilty while Brock pleaded guilty. In court, the investigating officer, acting branch commander for SAPS Bayview, Detective Warrant Officer Shadrack Govender, told the court that they have enough evidence to prove that the two accused plotted and planned the murder, and made it look like a robbery as per their confessions.

Uncle of the deceased, Manuel Singh, said that the family appreciates the SAPS Bayview detectives for their sterling work.
