A sod-turning ceremony took place recently at the launch of the new water project in the Dundee and Dannhauser areas. The ceremony also served as an introduction of the contractor to the Ward 16 community, led by Councillor Mnguni.

The R18 million water expansion project is set to greatly contribute to remedying the many water problems which have been plaguing the community for some time now and is also set to provide many job opportunities, much to the delight of locals. Councillor PMS Ngubane, Mayor of uMzinyathi District Municipality, called for cooperation between the contractor and the community. He then warned the public that once the water project has been completed, people should stop connecting water illegally. “Illegal connections will disturb the water supply and eventually there will be people who do not get water in the right way. This project is a milestone and is there to serve the community,” he said.
