More than three thousand people presented themselves for a united prayer meeting, with theme being a day of reconciliation that was held at the Rydalvale Sports Grounds, on 11 September.
Pastor Kisten, of Gateway Ministries, who is more commonly known to his congregation as Speedy, said the day was a day of repentance and reconciliation as they trust in God for revival over South Africa. “As spiritual leaders we have been convicted by God to bring our community together. We all have come out to publicly repent and ask one another for forgiveness for all the wrong that we have done in the past hundreds of years, so that we can break and cut off all the generational curses that has happened in the past and establish a generational blessing going into the future,” Kisten said.
He said they had arranged communion for 3000 people had prepared 30 decks of breyani to serve those who were present at the united prayer meeting.
“We are coming with the spirit of humility, as without humility God is not going to register our repentance in heaven and when humble ourselves God will hear from heaven and will forgive our sins and heal our land. So what we did today is to deal with our problems in a spiritual manner and honour God first, to repent and ask God for forgiveness and then we asked one another for forgiveness and then we accept the forgiveness from one another. We then went into washing feet, in the bible it teaches us that Jesus washes the disciple’s feet and he says that what he is doing is an example of humility and when we practice what is said in the bible it will go well for us,” said Kisten.
Kisten added that they are hoping for revival which is the change of hearts of men and women towards one another and towards God.
“We are hoping that through this prayer meeting the economy will be revived, so we can have prosperous country, revival in our schools so that our children will be safe, revival in our families so that we can have God-fearing families,” he said.
Also present at the prayer meeting, Pastor Sibusiso Mtakati, said they are expecting God to assist them in helping them break through the past struggles and in assisting them to become one community as a whole.
He said: “We are all present here today to get forgiveness from one another as that is the first step in breaking these barriers. We want to become one united community, with all races coming together as one and hopefully through this prayer meeting we will achieve it.”
