The Open Door Crisis Care Centre has received a welcome boost after Super Tyres donated and fitted four new tyres to one of the organisation’s vehicles, ensuring it can continue responding to emergencies safely.
The community-based organisation provides shelter and holistic support to survivors of abuse and human trafficking. Its services include emergency accommodation, trauma counselling, legal assistance and outreach programmes that reach more than 6,000 people each year.
Director Thora Mansfield said the centre had urgently appealed for assistance after worn tyres threatened the roadworthiness of the vehicle, which is used to respond to emergency call-outs and transport vulnerable people to safety, medical facilities and legal services.
She thanked the company for responding immediately to the request and arranging for the tyres to be fitted without delay.
Managing director Dean Horn said reliable transport is essential for organisations working on the frontline of crisis response, adding that supporting community initiatives remains a priority.
The tyres were fitted by technician Musa Gcina from the Pinetown branch.
