The body of four-year-old Mlando Zuma, who had been missing, was found in the sewerage system of a house where the child was last seen playing.
Plessislaer SAPS have opened an inquest. Mlando was reported missing on 18 June while playing in Dambuza. PMB Search and Rescue was called out and the area was searched, he was then later found. Police have also warned members of the community to not take the law into their own hands, after the Dambuza residents had set the house on fire, where the child’s body was found. “We are appealing to the community not to take the law into their own hands; the acts of vigilantism will not be tolerated in our province,” said police. Police are still waiting for the post-mortem results that will determine the cause of death.
