As the blessed month of Ramadan draws near, Tiny Steps Care Team NPO has extended warm Ramadan Mubarak wishes to the community, calling on individuals, businesses and organisations to support its annual Ramadan feeding and hampers drive.

The founder, Naadia Sheik Hameed said that 2026 marks the sixth year that the Tiny Steps Care Team has consistently run its Ramadan feeding and hampers project, a programme rooted in compassion, dignity and service to vulnerable communities across Durban.

“During Ramadan, the NPO aims to provide daily iftaar meals to those in need, serving 150 meals per day at two locations in the west of Durban, Shongweni Park Farm and Clifton Musalla. Each meal, which includes a wholesome dish, juice and fruit or dates, costs R30.
“The organisation will also continue its family feeding initiative in Phoenix, where families of four to six can be supported at R150 per day. Meals are provided either as prepared hot meals or as DIY food kits, available daily or over weekends.

“In addition, Ramadan hampers valued at R400 will be distributed, containing basic food essentials to sustain families of four to six people throughout the month, “ Sheik Hameed explained.

Tiny Steps Care Team emphasised that contributions made through Zakaat, Lillah or Sadaqah play a vital role in ensuring that assistance is delivered with dignity and that struggling families are supported consistently during the holy month. Banking details are available on request, and tax certificates can be issued for donations exceeding R1 000.
The NPO offered heartfelt prayers for all donors and supporters, praying that Allah accepts their charity, places barakah in their wealth and families, and rewards them abundantly.

Community members who wish to make a difference this Ramadan are encouraged to partner with Tiny Steps Care Team NPO and help extend hope, nourishment and mercy to those in need.
