Tennis South Africa (TSA) recently confirmed the launch of the second tennis camp conducted by the Rafa Nadal Academy in South Africa.

The camp will take place at the Curro Tennis Academy in Hillcrest, KZN, from the 7 to 12 January 2022 and will be managed by Sim Tours and run by coaches from the Rafa Nadal Academy in Spain. TSA director of tennis, Jeff Coetzee, said the six-day tennis camp will provide participants with unique access to the academy’s training philosophy focused on developing an attractive, technically and tactically skilled, forward-playing game. He said the KZN camp launch comes after passing the threshold of 90% registrations in the youth category for the inaugural camp taking place in Strand, Western Cape. The camp in Strand will also be the only camp allowing participants between the ages of 8 and 10 years old.

Coetzee added that the camps will provide local players with a unique opportunity to be exposed to the latest trends and best practice in international tennis coaching, without having to leave the country. “Furthermore, in the interests of inclusivity, a certain number of complimentary places will be made available to players from disadvantaged backgrounds,” said Coetzee.
