Team Smart and Palestine 11 were among the standout performers in an action-packed weekend of cricket, with several teams keeping their qualification hopes alive in the KHT20 Winter League.
Team Smart produced a commanding performance against All Stars, winning by 117 runs. Ravi Reddy continued his rich vein of form with a sensational unbeaten 108 off just 52 balls, while Salman Yacoob claimed a hat-trick to complete a comprehensive victory.
Toybah also secured an important win, edging Dolphins Hubs by 12 runs. Sarfaraz Sheikh led the way with a crucial 71, while Ashwin Lala’s three-wicket haul proved to be the difference as Toybah held their nerve to secure the victory.
Titans eased past Rising Gujarat by seven wickets after restricting their opponents to a modest total of 83. Imran Saib remained unbeaten on 29 as Titans completed a straightforward run chase.
Jozini were involved in a thrilling encounter against Elite 11. Elite 11 posted 153, with Mo Karodia contributing 46 runs. Jozini were rocked early by Lungelo Majola, who claimed three wickets, but a crucial eighth-wicket partnership turned the match on its head.
Siraj Ikhediya produced a sensational late-innings cameo, smashing 35 off just 12 balls to guide Jozini over the line by three wickets, with 12 balls to spare.
Jozini then faced Palestine 11 in their second match of the day and were blown away by a devastating display from the Palestine 11 fast bowlers. Chasing 152 for victory, the Jozini batters had no answer to Khalique Abbasi, who ripped through the batting order with an outstanding six-wicket haul from just 20 balls.
Monday’s games were washed out, leaving teams with everything still to play for as the battle for qualification intensifies.
