It was a double whammy for a 17-year-old boy who was stabbed twice when accosted by robbers while attending his uncle’s funeral in Cornubia, on Friday.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), who were called to assist, said they arrived on scene at 8.57pm. RUSA boss, Prem Balram said the teenage boy was found to have sustained a stab wound to his back and another on his left arm. “It was established that the victim was attending his uncle’s funeral when he and his elder cousin proceeded to a tuck shop. Three males then approached them, produced knives and demanded their valuables. “A scuffle ensued when the teenager was stabbed. The suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction,” he said.
