It’s going to be a Marvel-ous, heroic night of comedy with some of your favourite comic heroes albeit with a seriously funny twist, braving the heat of Durban this April to make you laugh. Comedians in capes but no masks will descend on The Globe at Suncoast for a night of fun, laughter, dance and song to make you Laugh Out Loud. A night where heroes are made and zeros will fade. It’s a seriously super cast.
Is it a politician or a temple uncle……no its Sans Moonsamy aka SuperSans who will take you Up Up and away, with his underwear on the outside aptly named ‘Grip-tonite’, and as the host of the show with his bag of tricks combining stand up, sketch comedy, audience participation with lots of surprises, Sans will really take the audience on a comedy journey of heroic proportions. Sans is the star of the recent comedy hit Mr Bones 3, Who’s My Daddy? Blitz Patrollie and a whole lot more.
The show will also feature Henry Ramkissoon of the Dingalings will be Iron Man or Ironing Man and as he describes his super powers as ‘When I am Hot I will press’. Durban audiences know him for his larger than life personality and his crazy sense of humour. He was also recently seen in the movie Who’s My Daddy? And Mr Bones 2
The Colourful Hamish Kyd is a Durban local, renowned comic, musical theatre actor, writer will be bringing his 50 shades of green, brand of comedy to show off ‘The Incredible H’. His alter ego is Professor Gopaul who comes with a spicy Indian flavour. Also one of the stars from Who’s My Daddy? And Kings of Mulberry Street 2 which releases in 2023 too.
Sed Pillay is another social media superstar and his alter ego is Captain Mzansi, a purely local hero who works from home…. because of transport issues, cos he can only fly like a penguin, so he does his saving online, particularly his side hustle selling data, weaves, swappable gold teeth, but in the true spirit of Mzansi doesn’t work during load shedding for obvious reasons, he is the comedic saviour of our beloved country with his parodies and unique sense of humour.
Logie Naidoo is The Dark Night and with tongue firmly out of cheek, he is one of stars of Who’s My Daddy’ and featured in The Great Big SA Indian Comedy Show, but apart from that the ex deputy Mayor of Durban is a fan favourite especially with his new found love of comedy and the stage. Not quite from Gotham City, more like from Overport City, this guy is a very naughty, also very nice and he has a lot of spice. A comic that is Pun-dementally Funny. Villains of despair will disappear when this hero is around.
Last on this line up is Bash with Tash who is our Damsel in ‘this dress’ or should I say super hero attire. She is another firm Durban favourite and has taken the live circuit by storm after exploding on social media. She is BlunderWoman, wonder-full in her ways and comic outlook. She really brings a fantastic dynamic to the show as well as that delightful feminine touch.
It’s a comedy show like Durban has never seen before and is brought to you by SandMan Productions and Enzine Events who’s last Durban event The Great Big SA Indian Comedy Show played to a SOLD OUT and packed The Globe only a few months ago with hundreds being turned away at the door, so you get a chance to be a hero and get your tickets early to avoid being a villain.
