The Bhakti Marga Durban Sangha has demonstrated the power of community and selfless service by donating a massive one ton of rice to the Chinmaya Mission’s “Nourish to Flourish” program. This generous donation, totaling 1 ton, is expected to provide thousands of meals for families and individuals who depend on the Mission’s ongoing humanitarian work.

The Sangha, part of a global spiritual movement founded by Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda and centered on the principles of love, patience, and selfless service, is no stranger to charitable outreach. Members regularly engage in local initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable communities, and this rice drive was one of their most ambitious efforts to date.

Abhayaprada Dasi, lead of Bhakti Marga Durban Sangha said: “Service to humanity is an integral part of our path. Seeing the community come together to reach the one-ton milestone for the Chinmaya Mission has been truly inspiring. It is a testament to what we can achieve when we work together for the greater good.”

The collection process took several weeks and involved extensive outreach, with both devotees and local residents contributing to the cause. The rice was officially handed over to the Chinmaya Mission this week, marking a milestone in the Nourish to Flourish program, which relies on the generosity of donors to maintain its operations. The Mission expressed heartfelt gratitude for the donation, emphasising that contributions of this scale are critical to sustaining the program and meeting the growing demand for food assistance.
