Repairs on Rinaldo Road have been finally been completed after a huge sinkhole appeared during the heavy rains last year. The massive sinkhole had resulted in the road being used one way only causing traffic congestion during peak hours. The road was repaired and was finally completed and opened recently.
Glen-Hills resident Sphesihle Mhlongo, said that the hole had caused panic to the residents and motorists who use the road daily.

“I used to hit the sinkhole every time I drove on Rinaldo Road because you could not see it until it is too late to swerve. I stay in Harrison Drive and I use this road on a daily basis. Traffic was a nightmare,” said Mhlongo.
Kevin Naidoo who works in the shopping centre in the area said that the sinkhole had created an additional expense to his income because he had to change tyres every second month. “We are glad that we are now at the end of the problem that has been with us over two years and now business and lives will go back to normal in this area,” said Naidoo.
Nicole Bollman, Ward 36 councillor said that the sinkhole had collapsed and that was what had created the issue. “The repairs were carried out post an inspection and the road is now reopened,” Bollman said.
